30,000 pairs of glasses for pilgrims in India
The Kumbh Mela is one of the largest religious festivals in the world, bringing together millions of pilgrims at India's holy rivers. In 2025, the Maha Kumbh Mela took place in Prayagraj.
As part of this event, the Netra Kumbh (since 2019) was also organized—a large-scale eye care initiative offering free eye examinations, glasses, and treatments.

Our partner organization Care Netram was active on site:

She conducted eye tests, issued glasses, and referred people for further treatment or surgery when necessary. This gave many pilgrims access to eye care right on the spot.
These figures speak for themselves:
44,497
pilgrims received an eye test
31,107
glasses were distributed
3,030
pilgrims with cataracts identified
