The first pair of glasses is created in Martin Aufmuth's cellar.

The math and physics teacher spends months looking for a system to produce glasses cheaply and without electricity. In 2011, he flew to Uganda for the first time with a bending machine in his luggage to test his system – and it worked. In June 2012, he founded the EinDollarBrille association.

Just five years later, the EinDollarBrille association has won several awards, including the Siemens Stiftung's 1st prize at the empowering people. Award, the prestigious Tech Award (San José, USA) and the Next Economy Award, which is presented by Philipp Lahm. The number of OneDollarGlasses issued rises to over 100,000.

Ten years of EinDollarBrille association: the aid organization is now firmly established in eleven program countries on three continents worldwide. The desire to enable people to see better is bearing fruit.

After more than one million eye tests, more than 400,000 people will receive a pair of OneDollarGlasses by mid-2022.

The GoodVision team says THANK YOU from the bottom of its heart.

The OneDollarGlasses are my life – I wouldn't be here without them.
